Gambling licensees must also possess a liquor license
In
order for a business in Montana to apply and be approved for a gambling
license, it must first hold a liquor license. Thus liquor and gaming
license issues become intertwined for the licensee, but also in the
minds of the public.
Both liquor and gambling raise significant
social issues and have prompted equally significant social
responsibility programs at the initiative of businesses,
government, activists groups and, sometimes, in partnership between
these groups.
This section deals more specifically with the
adult beverage aspect of licensed businesses in Montana but also across
the nation.
