Tuesday of the Montana Tavern Association convention, Sept. 11, is indeed not to be missed as it has something for everyone, beginning with meetings of the public relations and insurance committees in the morning.

However, Tuesday is also the day in which suppliers to the industry have an opportunity to showcase the newest and finest they have to offer.  The annual industry trade show, slated to be held in the grand ballroom of the Outlaw, kicks off at 10 a.m. and runs until 6 p.m. (see more detailed story on trade show in related article).

A great deal of the day's activities take place in the trade show area with luncheon being served at various stations from noon until 1 p.m.  The trade show luncheon is designed to fuel your body in order to last through the planned activities into the night.

The gastronomical offers will include:  Huckleberry BBQ grilled chicken, Jack Daniels BBQ smoked sausage, baked beans, potato salad, tossed green salad and beer corn on the cob with chipotle butter.

Following the luncheon, convention goers can continue shopping the trade show and searching out those vendors with whom they traditionally do business and visiting with new suppliers who often have new items not seen before in the market place.

As the day progresses the magic hour of 4:30 p.m. is struck and the trade show cocktail party takes off in full force.

In addition to the traditional libations, various stations will feature appetizers to sustain the hungry shopper.  The menu will include a meat and cheese display, vegetable crudités, fruit display, honey BBQ and hot wings, meatballs and Chinese egg rolls.

As the trade show party winds down towards the 6 p.m. close, buses will be loaded at the hotel entrance for the trip downtown to the Eagle s Lodge 234 for the industry party.  Once more the libations will flow and a light offering of food will be served including Hawaiian chicken, steak kabobs, a vegetable, tossed green salad and rolls to offer sustenance to the weary.

At the conclusion of the industry party at 8:30 p.m. the buses will once more load to return to the Outlaw and the championship round of the annual freeze-out poker tournament at the Bulldog.

Those who aren t interested in the poker tournament are encouraged and free to visit member establishments.
